So I woke up and discovered I can't walk without terrible pain. The bad news is I slept in my grandfather's clinic(I accompany him during weekend nights) and I have to walk home. The good news is my grandfather's a doctor and it is a clinic so I got meds for the pain. I'm sure using steroids for inflammation is overkill but I don't have any NSAIDs, it worked anyway because I can now walk. I doubt that the pain would disappear by Tuesday and this would be a good reason to get out of that performance I really do not want to do. *evil grin*

About the debate for January, we finally got our groupings. I ended up in the negative side. Crud. The argument is on the beneficence of transgenic plants to human beings. Focusing on the ethics surrounding it.

Great! I support biotech and all those cool stuff but now I have to argue against it. I must resist the urge to use the argument, transgenic = artificial = bad. Ugh...

Must look on the positive side. This would be a really good opportunity to learn about the two sides of the transgenic organism issue. Though I doubt that I'd find compelling evidence that would say that transgenic plants would be or are harmful to man.

We're really having nice weather. Perfect for data collection. Slightly sunny to cloudy. No to very insignificant rain(the amount where you don't need an umbrella). Wish this will continue over the next weeks. I'm still not sure if its already the cold dry season or the end of the hot rainy season. Must be the CC and GW.

My boil burst! I know it's gross. It was bloody and you could see the pus ball(aka the head). The aftermath was bloodier. I was dripping blood all over the floor. Hah! I'll stop now. Let's go eat!

Even though, few(only me) read this blog I'd still like to warn everybody of this website I recently found. The Dengue Cure website by Mr. Edwin Casimiro. The website offers some uh...advice on how to cure and treat dengue. Some are benign and acceptable, like getting enough bed rest and offering comfort to the sick(though once the sick is in the near 40's he or she doesn't really notice any thing that much) to weird like eating lots of fruit to downright stupid, electrotherapy to kill the virus and to never ever trust doctors and hospitals.

The weird thing is the advice he gives will probably work most of the time since dengue is not really cured by any drug. Our body manages to neutralize the virus on its own, it just needs a little more energy. That is why treatment for it is only supportive therapy(IV feeding and rehydration) for most individuals especially those who were healthy when they were infected.

In my case, I spent only 2 days in trance mode due to the fever but after that I was feeling quite well. The only thing I needed was IV therapy because of my extreme loss of appetite, vomiting the previous days and my inability to eat(I was too tired). I didn't even need a plasma transfusion. I haven't read any real studies but for those who I know contacted the disease, their cases were similar to mine as they managed to defeat the disease without ingestion of any drugs.

On the other hand, the website contains this herb which promises to kill the virus(not that I think this would be really significant as we've seen most cases resolve with proper supportive therapy) which scientists could look into.

Great! I have a cold(sipon). It started with a slightly annoying sore throat, progressed to a very painful one then some random bouts of heavy mucus secretions then finally a full blown cold with a matching headache. Thank the heavens(Did I just say that?) for Strepsils, Suka+Tubig+Asin gargle and Cynosal(my preferred drug for colds and headaches). I also had a slight fever before the final stage. Hopefully, it'll only last for a few days but knowing my lousy(but not compromised) immune system, it'll probably end next week.

I've just learned that Book3 of Avatar: The Legend of Aang can now be viewed. Yey! I've just seen the first episode, it seems it's going to be a darker moodier final season.
